REPORTING DIRECTLY TO THE MINE GENERAL MANAGER AND WITH DOTTED-LINE REPORTING TOTHE VICE PRESIDENT, HUMAN RESOURCES AND ABORIGINAL AFFAIRS, THE HUMANRESOURCES MANAGER IS A KEY MEMBER OF OUR MINE SITE SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE A CREDI-BLE AND PROACTIVE PROFESSIONAL, CAPABLE OF PROVIDING VISION,LEADERSHIP, AND CLEAR AND PRO-GRESSIVE DIRECTION FOR THE HR TEAM AND THE HR FUNCTION AT THE DETOUR LAKE MINE SITE, WHICH OFFERS A DYNAMIC, CROSS CULTURAL WORKENVIRONMENT.

RESPONSIBILITES:
Lead site programs and processes addressing employee rela-tions, employee engagement, effective performance manage-ment, retention initiatives, talent management, succession plan-ning, and leadership development;
Influence policy development and ensure a harmonious work-place by consistent policy application. Provide HR guidance and advice to the site senior management team and departmental colleagues;
Prioritize recruitment and correspondingly, effective selection processes;
Prepare and manage the annual HR budget and compile HR metrics on a monthly basis;
Ensure the legal compliance of all HR processes and activities and assume a lead role on change initiatives and best practice applications.;
Solidify the presence and visibility of HR at site and earn the right to be viewed, by all groups of employees, as a trusted leader in the field of Human Resource management;
Prioritize recruitment and staffing requirements and, develop talent management requirements in conjunction with professional development.


REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant post-secondary education, together with 15+ years of progressive professional experience in a fully integrated Human Resources/business capaci-ty, complemented by a CHRP or SHRP designation in good standing;
Ability to build and sustain strong working relation-ships, both within and external to the organization;
Proven and exemplary organizational, leadership and communication skills and a professional and collabo-rative approach to problem solving;
Energy, creativity, positivity, and a demonstrated capacity to execute plans to completion;
Knowledge of SAP, previous mining sector experi-ence, and exposure to Aboriginal cultures would be considered strong assets
